The seven wonders in France – how many of them have you seen?

France has so many beautiful places to visit and enjoy, which makes it quite a challenge to select a few to highlight. Fascinating cities, stunning countryside, gorgeous coast, lakes and mountains, historic landmarks and iconic buildings… the choice is huge!
We thought that we would share with you some of our favourites – Tell us about the places that you love or maybe are planning to visit in the future?

Let’s get started… in no particular order. On the Normandy/Brittany border you will discover Le Mont Saint Michel, an island, cathedral and world heritage site. The superb views across the Bay are simply a wonder to behold.

Did you know that Bordeaux was recently chosen as the best city in the world to visit? The amazing La Cité du Vin is symbolic of France’s wine capital, with great architecture and a vibrant commercial and retail sector.

Staying in south west France, if you haven’t been to Rocamadour, then it’s one for the list. Situated on top of a rocky plateau, this has been voted the Most Beautiful Village in France and it’s easy to understand why.

The fields of Provence are our choice number four; purple lavender filling the air with its beautiful scent and is surely a feast for anyone’s eyes.

France’s extensive collection of châteaux deserves the accolade of one of France’s seven wonders; you will find chateaux of all shapes and sizes throughout many parts of the country and in the Loire Valley undoubtedly you will come across some of the finest.

Number Six? How about the pretty banks of Lake Annecy in the north east, with its’ gorgeous blue waters and attractive environment?

Finally: no post about France is complete without mentioning Paris. The Eiffel Tower, the Arc de Triomphe, the cafes, art galleries and museums… so much to see and do.
